Solar Schools

Eagle Energy works with schools on the Navajo Nation to provide access to clean energy technologies.  Partner schools are provided a stock of Nokero solar-powered light bulbs that can be checked out from the school library. This allows students to learn firsthand about how solar energy works, and share that knowledge with their families and friends.  Eagle Energy is also developing curriculum to further educate students in the four corners region about the benefits of renewable energy.

For students with limited access to electricity at home, clean energy technologies available in school libraries also provides the opportunity to continue studies after dark.   In addition, Eagle Energy’s Solar Light Reading Club gives students the chance to learn about clean energy technologies while improving their reading skills.  Every book read earns a student an entry in a drawing to win one of the solar-powered light bulbs available in the library.
